In a large mixing bowl, combine the bread flour, milk powder, sugar, and salt. Mix well. Make a well in the center.
Activate the Yeast:
In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in lukewarm water. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until frothy.
Mix Dough:
Pour the yeast mixture into the flour well. Add the egg and softened butter. Mix until a rough dough forms.
Knead the Dough:
Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface. Knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
First Proofing:
Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover with a damp cloth. Let it rise for 1–2 hours or until doubled in size.
Shape the Bread:
Punch down the dough and divide into equal portions. Shape each portion into an oval or round Monay roll. Place on a greased or lined baking tray.
Second Proofing:
Cover the shaped dough and let it rise again for 30–45 minutes.
Brush & Bake:
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Brush the dough with milk or evaporated milk for a golden finish. Bake for 20–25 minutes or until lightly golden on top.
Cool & Serve:
Allow the bread to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm or at room temperature.
