Smoked BBQ Chicken

Pat chicken dry with paper towels.

Rub each piece with olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Let rest for 15–30 minutes to absorb flavors.

Step 2 – Prepare the Smoker or Grill

Preheat your smoker or grill to 225–250°F (107–121°C).

Add wood chips (hickory, apple, or cherry) for smoky flavor.

Step 3 – Smoke the Chicken

Place chicken on the smoker/grill grates.

Smoke for 2–3 hours (depending on size and cuts), until internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).

Step 4 – Apply BBQ Sauce

Brush chicken with BBQ sauce during the last 20–30 minutes of cooking for a sticky, caramelized finish.

Optional: baste a second time for extra glaze.

Step 5 – Serve

Remove chicken from smoker and let rest for 5–10 minutes.

Garnish with fresh herbs and serve with sides like coleslaw, baked beans, or cornbread.
