Ingredients

2 pounds beef stew meat, cut into 1-inch cubes

1 (10.75-ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup

1 (1-ounce) packet dry onion soup mix

1 cup beef broth

8 ounces fresh mushrooms, sliced

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

2 tablespoons cornstarch

2 tablespoons water

Optional Additions:

Chopped onions, carrots, or bell peppers

Fresh thyme or rosemary

Red wine (replace half of beef broth)
