How to start the car when the battery is discharged?

1. Jump-Start the Car

You’ll need: jumper cables and a working car (or a portable jump starter).

Steps:

Position the cars – Park the working car close enough so cables can reach both batteries, but don’t let the cars touch.

Turn off both vehicles – Ensure both ignitions are off.

Connect jumper cables:

Red cable → positive (+) on dead battery

Red cable → positive (+) on good battery

Black cable → negative (−) on good battery

Black cable → metal part of dead car’s engine block (ground), not the battery terminal

Start the working car – Let it run for 2–3 minutes.

Start the dead car – If it doesn’t start, wait a few more minutes.

Disconnect cables – In reverse order: black from dead car, black from good car, red from good car, red from dead car.

Let the engine run – Keep the revived car running for at least 20–30 minutes to recharge the battery.

2. Use a Portable Jump Starter
