Five-Star Hotel Method: Perfect Eggs Every Time

Prepare the Steamer:

Pour about 1–2 inches of water into a pot and place a steamer basket inside. Make sure water doesn’t touch the eggs.

Heat the Water:

Bring the water to a gentle boil over medium heat.

Steam the Eggs:

Place eggs in the steamer basket and cover with a lid.

Steam according to your desired doneness:

Soft-boiled: 6–7 minutes

Medium: 8–9 minutes

Hard-boiled: 10–12 minutes

Cool the Eggs:

Immediately transfer the eggs to an ice bath to stop cooking and make peeling easier.
