Decadent Old-Fashioned Fudge

Line an 8-inch square pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

Combine Ingredients:

In a medium saucepan, combine sugar, cocoa, butter, and evaporated milk.

Cook the Fudge:

Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture comes to a full rolling boil.

Boil for 5 minutes, stirring constantly to prevent scorching.

Add Vanilla:

Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.

If desired, fold in chopped nuts for extra texture.

Set the Fudge:

Pour the mixture into the prepared pan.

Smooth the top with a spatula.

Let it cool at room temperature until firm, about 2–3 hours.

Cut and Serve:

Once set, lift the fudge out of the pan and cut into 24 squares.

Store in an airtight container at room temperature or in the refrigerator.
