Prepare the Cocoa Semolina Mixture
In a medium saucepan, combine the milk and sugar over medium heat. Stir occasionally until the sugar dissolves.
Gradually add the semolina while stirring continuously to avoid lumps.
Add cocoa powder and continue stirring until the mixture thickens, about 10–12 minutes.
Add Butter and Flavor
Once the semolina is thick and creamy, stir in the butter and vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
Set the Squares
Pour the mixture into a greased or lined baking dish. Smooth the surface with a spatula.
Allow it to cool at room temperature for 15–20 minutes, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours to set.
