The Small Washing Machine Part You Should Never Ignore

Front-load machines usually have a pull-out drawer at the top left corner.

Top-load machines may have a removable detergent compartment or a small lint/filter trap near the drum.

Remove the Drawer/Filter:
Gently pull it out. Most slides or twists out easily.

Soak and Scrub:

Fill a basin with warm water and a splash of vinegar or mild dish soap.

Soak the drawer or filter for 15–20 minutes.

Use an old toothbrush to remove stubborn residue.

Rinse and Dry:
Rinse thoroughly under running water. Dry completely before reinserting.

Wipe Inside the Machine:
Use a damp cloth to wipe the area where the drawer sits. Make sure no soap residue or lint is left behind.
