Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined. Do not overmix.
5. Shape Cookies
Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet.
Press an indentation in the center of each cookie with your thumb or the back of a spoon.
6. Fill with Cherry Preserves
Spoon a small amount of cherry preserves into each indentation.
7. Bake
Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
Allow cookies to cool completely on a wire rack.
