Soft & Fluffy Turkish Bread

In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until frothy.

Mix Dough:
In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Add yogurt, olive oil, and the yeast mixture. Mix until a soft dough forms.

Knead:
Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

First Rise:
Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean towel, and let rise in a warm place for 1–1.5 hours, or until doubled in size.

Shape Bread:
Punch down the dough. Divide into 2–3 equal portions and shape into oval or round loaves.

Second Rise:
Place loaves on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Cover and let rise for another 30–45 minutes.

Bake:
Preheat oven to 200°C (390°F). Optionally, brush loaves with water or a little olive oil. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until golden brown.

Cool & Serve:
Let the bread cool slightly before slicing. Enjoy warm with butter, cheese, or dips!

✅ Tips:

For a more rustic flavor, add 1–2 tbsp sesame or nigella seeds on top before baking.

Yogurt makes the bread soft and slightly tangy, perfect for wraps or sandwiches.
