Choose the Right Cutting
Select a healthy stem from a rose bush, ideally a young and flexible shoot. Make a clean cut just below a leaf node. Remove all lower leaves, leaving only 2–3 at the top.
Apply Rooting Hormone (Optional)
Dip the cut end of the stem into rooting hormone powder. This encourages root development and increases the chances of success.
Plant the Cutting
Fill a small pot with a mixture of sand and soil. Make a hole in the center, insert the cutting, and gently firm the soil around it to hold it upright.
Create a Humid Environment
Cover the pot with a clear plastic bag or a plastic bottle with the bottom cut off. This keeps the humidity high, which is essential for root growth.
Water Carefully
Keep the soil moist but not waterlogged. Mist the cutting occasionally to maintain humidity inside the cover.
