How to Use Epsom Salt for Plants

Vegetables and Flowers: Sprinkle 1–2 tablespoons of Epsom salt around the base of each plant.

Watering: After sprinkling, water the soil thoroughly to help the salts dissolve and reach the roots.

2. Foliar Spray

Mix Solution: Dissolve 1 tablespoon of Epsom salt in 1 gallon of water.

Apply to Leaves: Spray directly onto the leaves early in the morning or late in the afternoon. This allows nutrients to be absorbed through the leaves efficiently.

3. For Seedlings and Transplants

Gentle Dose: Mix 1 teaspoon of Epsom salt per gallon of water and water young plants lightly. This promotes strong root development without overwhelming delicate seedlings.

4. Specific Plant Recommendations

Tomatoes & Peppers: Apply Epsom salt every 2–3 weeks to encourage lush leaves and more fruit.

Roses: Sprinkle a tablespoon around each plant monthly for more vibrant blooms.

Houseplants: Use a teaspoon per quart of water once a month to maintain healthy foliage.
