70% isopropyl alcohol

Cotton swab or spray bottle

Instructions:

Dip a cotton swab in alcohol and rub directly on visible scale insects.

Alternatively, mix 1 part alcohol with 2 parts water and spray affected areas.

Alcohol dissolves the wax coating of scale insects, effectively killing them on contact.
