Prepare the shrimp: Pat shrimp dry and season lightly with salt and pepper.
Cook the shrimp: Heat olive oil and 1 tbsp butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add shrimp and cook 1–2 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Transfer to a plate.
Make the sauce: In the same skillet, melt remaining butter. Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
Add cream & parmesan: Stir in heavy cream, parmesan cheese, and red pepper flakes (if using). Simmer for 2–3 minutes until sauce thickens slightly.
Combine: Return shrimp to the skillet. Toss to coat in the creamy sauce and heat through.
Serve: Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately over pasta, rice, or with crusty bread.
