Ingredients

½ cup (45 g) unsweetened cocoa powder (preferably Dutch-processed)

¼ tsp salt
½ cup (113 g) unsalted butter, softened
½ cup (100 g) granulated sugar
½ cup (100 g) brown sugar, packed
2 large eggs (room temperature)
1 tsp vanilla extract
½ cup (120 ml) buttermilk (or whole milk + ½ tsp vinegar)
½ cup (120 ml) hot coffee (or hot water for a milder flavor)
4 oz (115 g) semi-sweet or dark chocolate, melted and slightly cooled
Chocolate Fudge Frosting (Ganache Style):
8 oz (225 g) semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
½ cup (120 ml) heavy cream
2 tbsp unsalted butter
