What’s Happening
C7 Nerve Root: This nerve exits the spinal cord at the 7th cervical vertebra (C7) in your neck.
Pathway: It travels from the neck, down through the shoulder, along the back of the upper arm and forearm, sometimes reaching the middle finger.
Symptoms Area: The red-shaded region (as shown in diagrams) highlights where pain, numbness, tingling, or weakness may occur when the C7 nerve is compressed. This is known as radiculopathy.

Herniated disc
Degenerative disc disease
Bone spurs (osteophytes)
Spinal stenosis
Trauma or prolonged poor posture
